Stream from Ecamm Live

Ecamm Live is a firm favourite on macOS, and for good reason. Point it at Stream Repeater via a Custom RTMP destination and your Mac production streams to every platform at once.

Beginner macOS
In Ecamm Live: Destination → Custom RTMP

Step by step

Follow these in Ecamm Live — takes about a minute, no PhD required.

Set Stream To Custom RTMP

In the Destination panel (or Stream To menu), select “Custom RTMP”.

Enter Ingest Server

Copy the RTMP server URL from your dashboard and paste it into Server URL.

Enter Stream Key

Copy and paste the stream key into the Stream Key field.

Go Live

Click the Go Live button at the bottom of the Ecamm main window and you’re off.

Your ingest details

Use these in the fields above. The exact values for your stream are on its page in the portal.

RTMP server rtmp://your-workspace.streamrepeater.com:1935
Stream key your-stream?user=your-stream&pass=sk_live_••••••••••••

Your stream key is unique and can be rotated any time you fancy. A separate read-only playback key handles previews, so sharing one never exposes your publish credentials.

Pro tips for Ecamm

A few small tweaks that keep your relays clean and your headaches at zero.

  • Ecamm handles resolution scaling automatically based on your network strength, so there’s little to babysit.
  • Select high-quality audio formats (AAC Stereo at 48kHz) to match restream targets.
  • Turn off unused streaming outputs in Ecamm to save local network bandwidth.
