How do I talk over my stream without OBS?

If you go live without OBS — from our Local Agent’s game broadcast — you still want to be heard. Wiring a microphone into a stream normally means an audio mixer and a lot of routing. Here’s how to add your voice with a single button instead.

The Talk button

The Local Agent’s Audio settings panel has a big Talk button. Press it and your microphone goes on air over the broadcast; press it again and you’re off air. It toggles live, with no stream restart and no gap in the video — so you can drop in a comment and step back out whenever you like.

Music that gets out of your way

When you talk, the background music automatically ducks down under your voice and comes back up when you stop — the same effect a broadcast engineer would ride a fader for. You set how far it drops with a single slider, alongside your mic level and overall music volume.

Pick your mic and go

Choose your input from the mic dropdown, watch the live meter to confirm it’s picking you up, then go live from the dashboard. The first time, your computer will ask permission to use the microphone — grant it once and you’re set.

Frequently asked questions

Does turning my mic on restart the stream?

No. The Talk button toggles your mic on and off air live, with no restart and no interruption to the video.

Does the music get quieter when I talk?

Yes. The music ducks under your voice automatically and recovers when you stop; you control how far it drops.

Do I need an audio mixer or interface?

No. Any microphone your computer can see works — pick it in the Audio settings panel and use the Talk button.
