Where is my TikTok stream key?
TikTok only shows a stream key (and a server URL) once your account has external streaming access. When you have it, the key appears in TikTok LIVE Studio, or in the “Go LIVE” flow when you choose to stream from third-party software such as OBS.
Who gets a TikTok stream key
Not every account can stream from external software. On top of the usual LIVE eligibility (TikTok generally requires 18+ and a regional minimum follower count), TikTok grants external RTMP streaming as a separate permission. Without it there is no stream key to find — you can only go LIVE from the phone app.
Where TikTok shows the key
If you have access, there are two common places. TikTok LIVE Studio (TikTok’s desktop app, where available) displays the server URL and key for you. Otherwise, on the web or in the app’s Go LIVE flow, pick the option to stream with third-party software — TikTok then reveals a Server URL (rtmp://…) and a Stream key you can copy into OBS, vMix or Stream Repeater.
- TikTok LIVE Studio → the stream details panel
- Go LIVE → “stream from third-party software” → Server + Stream key
- Copy both the server URL and the key — you need both
The key can rotate — grab a fresh one
TikTok stream keys can be short-lived or single-use per session. If a stream won’t start or was interrupted, return to the same screen, generate a new key, and update it wherever you pasted it. Never show the key on stream — anyone with it can broadcast to your channel.
No key showing? What to check
If there’s no stream-key option at all, your account most likely doesn’t have external RTMP access yet — keep growing your following and check back, since availability changes. Going LIVE from the phone app still works in the meantime, and the Local Agent can bridge TikTok LIVE chat, gifts and follows into Stream Repeater even without an RTMP key.
Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I find a TikTok stream key?
Your account likely has mobile LIVE access but not external RTMP access. The key only exists once TikTok grants third-party streaming.
Does the TikTok stream key change?
It can. TikTok keys are often short-lived or per-session, so generate a fresh one from the same screen if a broadcast fails to start.
Is the server URL the same as the stream key?
No — you need both. The server URL is the rtmp:// address; the stream key authorises your specific broadcast. Paste both into your encoder.
