Adding a video provider and API key
AI streams make their clips with your own account at a video provider. You create an API key in that provider's developer site and paste it into Stream Repeater. The provider bills you directly, under your own contract.
Add a provider
- Open AI Streams → Provider keys.
- Choose the provider from Add a provider.
- Paste the whole API key (and a label if you like), then save.
We check the key with the provider straight away, without making a video. The row then shows one of the states described in What the key states mean. You need the workspace settings permission to add, replace or remove a key; other members can see the table but not change it.
A workspace can hold one key for each provider at the same time. Each stream picks its own provider, so a cheap always-on channel and a showcase channel can use different services. Saving a second key for a provider you already have replaces the first.
Where to get each key
Luma Ray — create the key at platform.lumalabs.ai. Luma keys start with luma-api-; make sure you copied all of it. Keys from Luma's older Dream Machine API do not work.
Makes 5- or 10-second clips, in landscape, portrait or square. Luma is the provider that can continue a story from one clip to the next.
Kling AI — Kling now issues a single API key. Create one at kling.ai/dev/api-key (it is shown only once) and paste all of it into the API key box. If you still use an older Access Key + Secret Key pair, open Using an older Access Key + Secret Key pair? under the key box and check the two halves are not swapped. Makes 5- or 10-second clips, in landscape, portrait or square, each as a separate scene.
Runway Gen-4 — keys are made in the Runway developer portal (dev.runwayml.com → API keys), not in the Runway app. Copy the whole key, and check the organisation has credits. Makes clips of 2 to 10 seconds, in landscape or portrait, each as a separate scene.
Google Veo — use a Gemini API auth key from Google AI Studio (aistudio.google.com → API keys). Google is rejecting standard and unrestricted API keys from September 2026, so an older key may need replacing even if it worked before. Makes 4-, 6- or 8-second clips, in landscape or portrait, each as a separate scene.
MiniMax Hailuo — create the key at platform.minimax.io (Account → API Keys) on the international platform. A key from the mainland-China platform does not work here. Makes 6- or 10-second clips, in landscape, each as a separate scene.
Pika — keys are made at dev.pika.art (the Pika developer platform), not in the Pika app. A key that has been deactivated is refused. Makes 5-second clips, in landscape, each as a separate scene.
Test before you go live
Saving a key only proves the provider accepts it. Generate test video on the key's row makes one short clip so you can check your account has credit and the provider really produces video for you. It uses your own provider credit, so it asks first. Watch last test plays the result.
Keeping your key safe
We store the key encrypted and only ever show its last four characters. It is sent only to that provider's own API. Removing a key does not take a stream off air: streams using it stop asking for new clips and play standby media once their queue runs out.
