What the key states mean
Every provider you add shows a coloured Key label on AI Streams → Provider keys (and in the providers table on the AI Streams page). Only one state makes video.
| Label | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Working | The provider accepted the key. This is the only state that generates clips. | Nothing. Use Generate test video if you want to be sure the account has credit. |
| Key works · no credits | The key is fine, but the provider says the account has no credit, so we have stopped asking it for clips. | Top up your account at the provider, then press Check again. |
| Not checked yet | The key is saved, but the provider has never accepted it — often because the provider could not be reached when you saved it. Nothing is generated from it. | Press Check again. It asks the provider about the saved key; you do not need to paste it again. |
| Not working | The provider refused the key. The row shows what went wrong and the likely fix, with the provider's own words underneath. | Usually Replace key with a fresh one. If the provider says the account is suspended or API access is switched off, sort that out with the provider. |
The buttons
- Check again — free. Re-asks the provider about the key you already saved. Shown whenever the key is not working.
- Generate test video (or Test on the AI Streams page) — makes one short clip with your own credit, so you can watch it.
- Replace key — paste a new key for the same provider.
- Remove — deletes the key. Streams that use it stay on air, but stop getting new clips.
Why a stream can say "no key" when a key is saved
A stream only generates from a key in the Working state. If its provider's key is not checked yet, not working or out of credit, the stream page explains which, and links you back here.
